UBC graduate students began submitting their theses online via cIRcle, UBC’s digital repository, in fall 2007, a practice that both simplified the submission process and also ensured the availability of this research to a global audience in a timely manner. As of March 2012, UBC Library has digitized and made openly accessible the full-text.
Once The College of Graduate Studies receives the mandatory forms, students will be allowed to register and upload the thesis to cIRcle for the final formatting review.The student should activate their cIRcle account by going to the UBC Library cIRcle User Registration page:. On the registration page, enter your email address to register.
The grade given for the thesis should reflect the student’s work during their studies, culminating in the written thesis and oral defense. The examiners understand that the challenges faced by students vary widely from project to project, but there is an agreement on the attributes of good research work, articulated in the mark bands below.
You submit the final and corrected thesis to cIRcle. Deadlines for Master’s students are similar to deadlines for Ph.D. students, which are listed on the Faculty of Graduate Studies website. M.Sc. students only need to note the application for graduation, final day of defence, and final day for thesis submission.
